The wait is (almost) over...
VATCAN, VATUSA and VATEUD are very excited to announce the details of our next
event. Once again, we invite you to join us for an unforgettable experience which is made possible only twice a year. On
Saturday 24th October 2009, the skies of the North Atlantic will be filled as we come together for this year’s Eastbound leg, with 360 bookable slots and ad-hoc flights welcome as standard.
Pilots will be able to choose from an exciting set of departure fields consisting of
1.
Toronto Pearson (CYYZ)2.
Boston Logan (KBOS)3.
Chicago O’Hare (KORD)4.
Philadelphia International (KPHL)...and will be arriving at one of two arrival airports, located in Germany:
Frankfurt (EDDF) and
Munich (EDDM).Departure slots will be available from 1100z, running for four hours in order to be inclusive of as many time zones as possible. As always, high quality air traffic control will be provided for your departure, enroute segment, and of course the Oceanic crossing. A minimum of twelve highly skilled Oceanic controllers will be online throughout the event to deliver clearances and take position reports. After leaving Oceanic airspace, dozens of European enroute controllers will guide you towards your destinations where, finally, Frankfurt and Munich will be out in full force to welcome you home.
Pilot bookings are set to open on
October 1st at 0000z. Slots will then remain open until the event, and as always a full pilot briefing, along with hints and tips, will be available on the event website, which will be launched to coincide with the slots opening.
Stay tuned, and see you in the skies.
